Common questions
I installed it and nothing happens when I paste a secret. Installing is step one. You also need to tell the Key Master which channels to watch and where to route catches. Head to turn.key.thehiddendoor.ai to finish setup. Until that is done, the Key Master is installed but idle.
I pasted a real secret and the Key Master missed it. Send us the classification you expected (e.g. "Stripe live key") and a redacted example of the shape. We’ll add or tune the pattern. False negatives are bugs we want to hear about.
The Key Master deleted something it shouldn’t have. False positives are rare and hateful. The caught content is in your vault — nothing is lost. Email us with the breadcrumb’s audit ID (km_…) and we’ll tune the rule so it doesn’t happen again.
I want to remove it. In Slack: workspace admin → Manage apps → The Key Master → Remove. That revokes our Slack access. Separately, revoke the destination credential on your side (rotate your Google service-account key, drop the SSH authorized_keys line, etc.) and we can no longer write anywhere. Nothing we hold is a secret — just write-only access keys you own.
I want to install it but I’m not a workspace admin. The Key Master needs admin-level permission to delete messages on other users’ behalf. Ask whoever runs your Slack to do the install.
What does it cost? Five cents per catch, after a monthly free allowance. No subscription. No seat fee. You pay for work done.
